Friends of KSSP,

Even though workers and farmers are forced to flee their home and give-up
their jobs under compulsions imposed by imperialist globalisation, they may
not meet their basic needs under the new milieu hence such a phenomena are
unsustainable. So the need of getting trained in some employment along with
school education is not vanishing.

By saying "All socially useful vocations should be taught under school
system", I feel it does not mean to teach all such vocations to all
students, which is practically impossible. However it can be ensured that
each students should at least be trained in a limited minimum number of such
vocations. Our schools should have facility, resources and environment to
provide such training to students. Apart from get trained for some
employment, as a by-product, this will help them to have a better social
outlook.

Regarding the medium of education, it is better to teach in a language in
which students are thinking, In my opinion, this should be the case even for
higher education. Teaching or learning a foreign language is not a difficult
if one is constrained to use it daily. However improving quality of English
as a subject at school level can satisfy the aspirations of the parents to
a certain extent.

Whenever we think of reforms in school education, it cannot be limited to
education itself. The concept of life style, development, social relations
etc. of society at large also need to be reformed. However, as a starting
point primary education is where these reforms can be attempted.
