I was wondering whether, medicine can stand alone
as a separate field any longer.. here in michigan,
they have one of the largest medical schools in US,
and interstingly the mechanical, electrical and
electronics dept of the engineering schools have lot
of research work going on in medical school too. and
of course the depts like bio medical engineering have
professors who are medical doctors.. since everything
is under the same university, an engineering student
can even take a course in anatomy. a medical student
can take classes in material science as well..
it is even interesting that medical school and i
guess law school as well, are graduate schools, and
many of these doctors and lawers over here had studied
other subjects like literature, science, social
sciences, engineering etc during their undergraduate
days...
