Somehow I can't see the role of "media manipulation" in the case of Smart City.
Even without any media influence, almost 99% of the people of Kerala will welcome any such venture, which promises to bring 90 000 or so jobs, I think.
The objectionable part, is the possibility of labour laws being suspended, unjustified tax concessions and LSGI authority being excluded within this township.
We cannot close our eyes to the fact that the biggest problem of Kerala is educated unemployment.
Of course, we can take the stand that Smart City will primarily benefit only a certain section of the population and the government should show more concern to the excluded sections. But thast is no ground for opposing such venturtes.
No government can function by concentrating only on the first priority activity.
