Media Manipulation in the Smart City issue isolated all other alternative possibilites like KINFRA Park. Com. Kuttappan Vijayachandran himself admitted his proposal media kept away.
Look the media become a success in keeping all other possibility away and us dealing with TECOM for better deal. A deal better than UDF's one.
Our extreme left wing and its intelectual brain is not ready to oppose this rightwing media manipulation because some of them are behind this kind of tricky penpushing for the rightwing. Madhyamam news paper is a best example.

The Extreme left which has pointed its guns at CPM are completely missing the rest of the world. Even CPM has consistently maintained in their Party Congress reports that the cadre quality is going down. The world is changing, the mindset of the people is changing, social responsibility is coming down, orthodoxy, irrationality and greed are going up, and the other side the Left has to face ( Chidambaram folks who are absolutely unconcerned about things that Matter & the BJP fools) is making the space so tough for them to do something. Please understand this.
RVG Sir,
If somebody thinks that the 8 hour working day norm should prevail in Smart City, they must be living in a fool's paradise. Most of the software firms have 24x7 support arms, and even otherwise, the way a software company functions is way different from traditional methods. Sometimes you will have to spend 24 hours at a stretch in office, and some other days, you dont have to sit even 6 hours.
Anyway. In our state, the trashing of Labour laws is nothing new. Those people working in textile and jewelery shops are there from morning to night. And they cant even think about maternity leaves and such things. Those working in private banks, and in the telecom sector (like Airtel, Reliance) in our state already work from morning to night.
And, just consider those running the small palacharakku kada round the corner- they are working 7 days a week, and most of the days in an year.
The thing is, Its is a tough world out there.

Even without any media influence, almost 99% of the people of Kerala will welcome any such venture, which promises to bring 90 000 or so jobs, I think.
The objectionable part, is the possibility of labour laws being suspended, unjustified tax concessions and LSGI authority being excluded within this township.
We cannot close our eyes to the fact that the biggest problem of Kerala is educated unemployment.
Of course, we can take the stand that Smart City will primarily benefit only a certain section of the population and the government should show more concern to the excluded sections. But thast is no ground for opposing such venturtes.
No government can function by concentrating only on the first priority activity.
